House of Sampoerna
The House of Sampoerna is a Dutch colonial-style compound located at Surabaya, constructed in 1862. Until now, this compound is still functioning as a place producing cigarette with an area of 3,812 square meters. These compounds consist of a large central auditorium and two smaller buildings on the east and west side. As a restoration finished in the past August 2003, the building’s original central auditorium is now a museum. This museum gives the visitors a really attractive offer from the story of the founders to closely watching the production facility. The east side is now a place containing a cafe, shop and an art gallery; whereas, the west side remains as the sampoerna family’s home.
