Sewage disposal unit works in three processes. First, sewage is transferred in settling tank. In this tank, undecayed solids settle in the base of tank. Then, this solid are removed and burned. The polluted water is transferred to pump house. In the pump house, water is pumped in high speed to the next process in sprinkle beds. Polluted water pass three steps in sprinkle beds. Firstly, it is rotated in rotating area. Then, jets of polluted water is come out from rotating area and filtered. This purified water is safe to enter the river.

The Process of Purifying Water (Sewage Disposal)
After the polluted water enters the sewer, it will go through a simple process until it is changed into purified water, which then, can enter the river without endangering the environment. This process has no human intervention in it, and the whole cycle will be done by a mechanism that is made specifically for this.
First of all, after the ‘contaminated water’ enters the main sewer, it will flow into the settling tank, where the solids, which can’t decay, are separated from the water. These solids are then burned in a separate place. Then, the polluted water, which is now solid-free, goes into the pump house, where it will be pumped into the sprinkler beds. The sprinkle beds are where the purification will take place. The dirty water will be filtered through a bed made of stones and micro-organisms. After that, the water that has been purified goes into a pipe where it will be brought to the river.
Household Water Distribution
Hot and cold water are distributed into a house in few simple steps. First, the cold water from the mains is transported into the cold water tank, where it will be transferred into the hot water tank. In the hot water tank, the cold water is heated up so that it becomes hot water. Then both, the cold water from the mains and the hot water from the hot water tank, are distributed to each house appliance where water is used, like the bath, the wash basin and the sink. Cold water from the mains is also distributed to the toilet.

Bogor, the city of green or the city of green?
During the old times,
Nowadays, Bogor is still a green city either. But, it’s a pity that Bogor now has it greenish color from the public transportation cars operating in the streets of Bogor. These cars are coincidently painted green and also create the greenish color everywhere and instead of creating a cool aura, this green color creates otherwise. The most greenish color would be clearly viewed if there is a traffic jam. I’m really sure if people view Bogor from the heights now, they would be easily disappointed.
I’m proud by the fact that Bogor is known as a green city, but I also feel ashamed when I knew that the green color is unnatural. These two facts make a harmonized irony for me, as one of the students at ITB who comes from Bogor, my hometown. The Works of Water Tanks

A house with a water supply needs a water-pipe to deliver the water through the house. If we look at the picture above, the water comes from the main pipe which is connected with the water pipes inside the house. On the picture also, we see that the water-pipe inside the house is a parallel pipe which delivers its water through different branch-pipes to various home appliances, such as the sink, the toilet, the washbasin, and the bathtub. Excluding the toilet, other appliances are provided with two different pipes which are the hot and cold water pipes.
Firstly, the water enters the house through the main pipe. On the first floor, a parallel water-pipe sends some water to the sink, meanwhile the rest of the water keeps going through the second floor. On the second floor, four parallel pipes delivered the rest of water which is going through and send them to its own place. The toilet pipe sends it to the toilet, the washbasin sends it to the washbasin, and so on. Furthermore, another parallel pipe sends an amount of water to the cold water tank to make the water cold of course. The cold water tank colds the water by lowering the temperature of the tank so that the water can be cold enough. After this process, the cold water is sent to the hot water tank to make it hot. Finally, the water from the hot water tank is going through the pipe to the bathtub.

My Hometown ( Editan )_ Swarna
In the olden days, Medan was inhabited only by Karonese people. After the king of Aceh, Sultan Iskandar Muda, sent his soldier to Tanah Deli, the Malay settled in this city. Nowadays, Javanese and Bataknese are the majority inhabitants in this city. There are also India and Tionghoa people. This makes Medan a multiethnic city.
The variety of culture in Medan can be seen from its buildings. A house of the late Tjong A Fie, a successful businessman, is an icon of Tionghoa ethnic in Medan. Kampung Keling, the settlement of India people, is a reflection of India culture. Istana Maimun, the castle of Sultan Deli, is a historical evidence of the Malay existence, while Padang Bulan, the settlement of Karonese, keeps Medan’s originality. This culture diversity makes Medan grow faster and be a better place to live.

Sewage Disposal by wahyu
The pump house pumps the polluter water into the third stage of the sewage disposal system, the sprinkler beds.
The sprinkler bed is the third stage of the sewage disposal system. Using the power of the pump, the polluted water is transported into the rotating arms. These rotating arms have sprinklers that showers jets of polluted water into the soil filter underneath. The filter is formed by stones and micro-organism, and is fenced by brick works, so as the polluted water does not seep sidewards. The polluted water then has nowhere else to go from the filter but downwards. On the bottom of the filter is the waterway of clean water. Having gone through the filter, the polluted water is now purified and no longer contains pollutants. Then, the waterway/pipe transfers this purified water into the river.

Sewege Disposal Unit by Cynthia
There are three main processes to purified water before entering river in sewage disposal unit. At the first stage, settling tank, solids are settle from the dirty water, come from main sewer. It will be removed and burned. The output is polluted water. The polluted water goes into the second stage, pump house. It is in order to accelerate the water. Then it ready to begin the third stage, sprinkler beds. The polluted water is sprouted with jets to the filter. The rotating arm makes it to be speared evenly. Stone and micro-organism can’t pass by it. At the end, purified water that ready entering river, we get as the final result.

unique food & water
Water from the main is distributed regularly to the house in two ordinary ways. First, water from main is distributed to the cold water tank and fill the water tank then water is distributed again to the hot water tank to be heated then it is distributed to household equipment. Second way, cold water is distributed to household equipment for example baths, wash basins, toilets and sinks.
Surabi
Surabi is a traditional food from Bandung. It is made from rice flour, wheat, coconut shaving, salt and some water. Surabi is made with traditional fireplace that is made from clay and fueled with charcoal. Mostly, Surabi has a burnt bottom. Previously, Surabi only had two flavors spicy and mild. All spicy surabi is spread by oncom(fermented cake that is made from soybean) as it’s topping , and all mild flavor didn’t have a topping. Usually the mild flavor was dipped to kinca (brown sugar).
Nowadays, Surabi has many more flavors for example, Surabi oncom mayonnaise, Surabi with egg and cheese, Surabi with chocolate, banana cheese, and so on. The best place to try surabi is at NHI setiabudi.

methane gas
Methane Gas
Basically, methane gas can be produced from rubbish. It was from the organic rubbish that dumped. When the dumps grow more and more, the number methane gas become larger. After the accumulation reach the limit, it will caused explosion. Now, the technology developed and we can avoid this to happen. Step by step with technology, we can conserve the organic rubbish and recycle them. The first step is put the organic compounds into the warming bed. In warming bed, this compounds will be separated and being conserved in the next step. The results, some are used for fertilizer and the others for making the methane gas. The organic compounds for making the methane passed through the dirt trap. Only gasses can pass this trap and the dirt are left in the base of the trap. After this step, the gas runs to the gas indicator where the methane gas were sterilized from the other gas (dirt). In this step, water have an important rule. By using the principal of distillation, and the differences of boiling point each gasses, the water separated the methane gas from the other. The next step is releases excess gas when the pressure is too high. This can be for preventing the explosion. Last step, is the most important step where the methane gas runs into the gas holder. Gas holder consists of some inner tubes that have function for weighting the methane gas. After all the step is finished, the methane gas that have been proceeded can be use for daily needs.

Extraction of Methane Gas from Household Waste
Methane which is used for cooking, heating, even lighting is actually extractable from the household waste. First, the waste is separated from a fermentation system in a warming bed to be next collected to a dirt trap for some separating process towards the polluter. After the separating process, the gas goes through the gas indicator which indicates the gas’ existence by the bubbling methane spread in the water. For the safety reason of the methane’s explosive capability, high-care safety standards pressure must be maintained at all times during the operation through the pressure release process. Here, the excess gas can be released to the water when the pressure is high. For the last step, the gas is put into a gas holder to increase its pressure for finally used by opening the gas tap connected to it.

MPANDU - Description - Rafflesia Arnoldi
Flowers are often seen as symbols for beauty, love, or even life. But that stereotype does not apply for the Rafflesia Arnoldi species. Rafflesia Arnoldi is called by many as the ‘Corpse Flower’ because, literally, it smells like rotting flesh. It is also a parasite for other plants. Those facts are already more than enough to explain why Rafflesia Arnoldi does not symbolize beauty like most other flowers do.
